The Corner Cafe + Bakery, Goulburn

If you are travelling from Sydney to the snow this winter - or just travelling and need a break ... turn off the freeway and stop in Goulburn for a coffee and something to eat.

There's a few places to try - but this one's my latest choice. It's on the main street corner, just before you turn out of town to head back to the freeway (heading south) - so aptly named 'The Corner Cafe + Bakery'. We stopped in yesterday and had pies, followed by coffee & lemon delicious slice (me), coffee & a banana, macadamia&caramel tart (my other half) and ice chocolate & citrus tart (my son). Obviously the pies were just an excuse for having the coffee and cake!

There's a great selection of fresh cakes and slices, cookies, pies and bread (they bake on the premises) - plus a menu board for breakfast and lunch options. It's warm and friendly inside - locals and tourists alike come in whilst we're there - you can grab a small table or the big wooden table & benches down one end if there's a few of you or you want to spread out with the papers.

So if you'd like to stop in - here's what you need to know:
